Shard-T

The red corrupted form of Tserin, first created in a GPP reactor disaster.

Shard-T, known in older accounts as anti-Tserin, is the red corrupted form of Tserin. It was created in the GPP reactor explosion and is physically invasive, associated with severe corruption and harm to living organisms.

Properties

Shard-T has a red prismatic appearance. Contact is lethal to ordinary organisms within seconds. Certain organisms known as Anti-T-Native are exceptions to that danger.

Formation

An active Tserin crystal transforms abruptly when its instability reaches the critical threshold. The event can add stress to nearby active crystals, creating a chain reaction in dense power installations.

Uses and hazards

A.R.C. uses Shard-T to power its systems. Zenith (organization) instead treats it as hazardous material requiring machine handling and deliberate containment. Mia cannot carry it by hand.

Shard-T was responsible for the illness that killed Mia's father.
